City Hall in Doerun is staffed by City Clerk Kimberly Taylor and Assistant City Clerk Katlin Henson. They are normally available Monday through Thursday from 7 AM to 5 PM. While at City Hall, they routinely prepare and collect monthly utility bills, prepare work orders and answer calls. Individually, Kimberly Taylor, as City Clerk, issues business licenses for the city, accepts accounts receivable and all requests/orders for connection/disconnection of city services. Kimberly was originally hired as the Assistant City Clerk by the city in 2019. She took over the position of City Clerk in 2021.
While Katlin Henson, as Assistant City Clerk, handles payroll, accounts payable, helps with accounts receivable and assists Kimberly. Katlin came to work for the city in 2023.
Alyssa Blakley is the Doerun City Manager since late 2022 and is responsible for overall operations and services of the city. With the oversight and/or approval of the city council he handles the day to day items that arise along with planning/overseeing improvements/additions to city services.
Alyssa was recently employed with the City of Cairo and Pelham as the Downtown Economic Development Director. Ms. Blakley has a niche for grant writing, networking, government programs, marketing, rehab and restoration, business and industrial recruitment.
Her education background is a 2000 graduate of Pelham High School, 2016 graduate of Thomas University (Interdisciplinary Studies), and 2021 graduate of Columbia Southern University (Master of Public Administration.)
John Walters has worked with/for the City of Doerun, off and on, in varying capacities, for most of his life. He currently works as a Public Service Technician and Assistant to the City Manager. He is a invaluable resource concerning the city’s infrastructure.
